Employee Profile
This is the section of the site where the employee enters
and maintains their personnel information. This includes name and
address, email address, emergency contact, and other personal
information. Users can also change their passwords in this section.
Updates made by users of this section will create an email to be
sent to the users human resources contact.

Benefits
This section of the site contains information on employee
benefits. This includes holiday schedules, sick, vacation and
compensatory time policies, and insurance and 401 (k) investment
information.

Human Resources Forms
This section contains a repository of the Human Resources Forms
used by the company. It provides an easy way for an employee to
access a form, and fill-out the form either on-line our manually.
The form can then be printed, signed and sent to their designated
human resources contact. With customization, these form completion
features can be the basis for a more automated interface to the
company’s human resource systems.

Memos
This section contains memos that are written by executives
and human resource professionals for distribution to all employees,
or to classes of employees. Having this feature eliminates the time,
effort and cost to print and distribute paper memos, leading to a
more paperless company environment. When a memo is posted to the
site, an email is automatically sent to all personnel who should
“receive” the memo, with a link to the site that contains the memo.

News
This section contains news about the company. Sources can
include internally generated press releases, or news clippings from
external sources. The Content Manager for this section, when posting
a news item, can also select whether this item should be added to
the content of the company’s corporate web site.

Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ)
This section supports extensive Business to Employee and
Employee to Employee communication on important company issues.
Using this tool, employees are allowed to post questions to the
site. When his occurs, a Content Manager will review the question
and send it to an executive or other subject matter expert who will
compose a response. The response will then be posted to the site,
and an email will be sent to the person who submitted the question,
while both the question and the answer will be available for viewing
by all employees. This section of the site also has administrative
tools to group the FAQ’s by subject. |

Editorials and Articles
These sections support the posting of short documents that
employees and executives desire to be accessed by a wide audience of
the company’s employees. These documents can take several forms. One
form is educational, where the article is designed to teach the
reader about a subject. Another form is editorial, to express a
point of view. Another form is personal, to present a human-interest
story (awards, outings, public service). iiIntranet can be set-up
with one or more sections to post and present these types of
content. |

Site Administration
The site has several administrative features to be used to
control is operation. These include:
- Access Management. This feature is used by authorized
personnel to assign user privileges. Privileges can be assigned
based on the classification to which the user is assigned, or on a
person-by-person basis. This is done by assigning user privilege
levels to each page of the site, and then assigning user access
code that will allow users to view and process information
consistent with their user class and/or personally assigned
privileges.
- Company Departments and User Profiles. This feature
allows authorized personnel to define company departments and
other user classes, and to assign users to these entities. User
information is also activated, assessed, grouped and deactivated
using the features of this section of iiIntranet. Department
specific content can be separated and made accessible to only
users of that department by administrators.
- Email. This feature manages the emails that can be
generated from activity on the iiIntranet. These emails can be
triggered automatically, or initiated by authorized personnel.
- Site Statistics. This feature collects usage statistics
on the various pages of the site, and presents this data in both
tabular and pictorial form for efficient review and analysis. This
information can be used by company management and human resource
professionals to determine the overall effectiveness of the
iiIntranet in meeting its goals for being an effective and
well-used tool for communication and morale building.
